Judges, Prophets, & Kings

By dlmorris

They did not tell the coming generations about the Lord – Judges 2:10. The results are devastating….

Although the book of Judges includes the accounts of many of the most well-known heroes of the Old Testament – Deborah and Barak, Gideon, Samson – the book actually documents Israel’s decent into sin that rivals and even surpasses the sins of Sodom and Gomorrah – cities synonymous with the vilest evil. The book even ends with a story that parallels Sodom and Gomorrah – visitors enter a city, the men of the city try to rape the men/man, they offer their daughters/wife instead.

As a result of the incident in Israel, all the tribes go to war against the tribe where the city was. Then they feel sorry for the few men who escape and go kill all the men in the city that did not join the battle against the one tribe and give their women to the tribe they almost wiped out. When that does not provide enough wives, they allow the men of the tribe to kidnap their daughters and promise they will not punish them.

Absolutely crazy stuff…., yet it is the reality of not telling the coming generations about the Lord.

Are you telling the coming generations about the God you personally know?

Or, do you know God personally enough to even be able to share Him….?
